Create a Life You Love, Part 1

As Joanna Gaines says, it's a good day for a good day.

Sedona, Arizona, where rumor has it the vortex makes everyone happy.

I texted a friend the other day, “Happy belated Birthday, I hope you had a good day!” Her response made me look at everything in my life differently, but it was so simple. She said, “Thanks! It’s always a good day around here.”

How many of us can say that? It’s always a good day around here?! She’s not an eternal Pollyanna, by the way. Nor is her life perfect. And she didn’t say it just because it was something polite to say, because she only tells it like it is – it’s one of the things I love about her, actually. She genuinely meant it.

How many people can say they’ve created a life they love so much, that even when it’s not a great day, it’s still a good day? That they look at the positives. She loves her family. Everyone is home, and healthy. She likes her job, and has set up her life in a way that it brings her happiness every day. Now that is something to consider.

Maybe you feel far from this, or maybe you feel close to it. It made me take a look at my life, and I realized, with a few tweaks, I could say that too. But you know what the biggest tweak would be? My thoughts about my life. I really don’t have to DO much differently, or need much to change outside of me. No, it’s mostly inside. Being present. Actively being grateful. Looking for the good. Letting things go. Not trying to control so much. Just, you know, ENJOYING life.

What a concept.
